School Visitors
All visitors are required to have photo I.D. and to report to the office to sign in through the HCPS Visitor Management System and obtain a visitor's badge. If you are planning to visit or volunteer in a classroom, please contact your child's teacher at least 24 hours in advance to set up an appointment.
Bus Safety
Children must obey the transportation rules for the safety of all. These rules are posted in each classroom and reviewed with all students each year. Violation of any of the rules will result in the immediate withdrawal of bus privileges.
Changes in Transportation
Any time a change in what is considered the normal mode of transportation is necessary, a note to the teacher from the parent stating the nature of the change is required. Students who normally ride a bus to and/or from school need to have a note indicating any change that is to take place. These changes include: riding a different bus, getting off at a different bus stop, parents or parent designee picking up after school or a bus student walking to a friend's home after school. Without a written note, the usual dismissal will occur.
Under no circumstances will a student who is not a regular bus rider be allowed to ride a bus either to or from school. Students are discouraged from arriving at their bus stop more than 5 minutes ahead of the expected pick-up time.
